where can I find the right oil for the flex shaft and what is it called.

I just bought a can of it at Tractor Supply, but right now can't think of what the brand name is, but it is industrial chain lube and look for moly in the ingredients. I'm sure someone will come along here and be able to tell you exactly what it is.

I have been using a moly lube made by Liquid wrench.
I don't know were to buy it though, Liquid wrench sent me a case of lubricants for an article I wrote as a promotional thing.
I would start at a good auto parts store if I was looking.

There are several different brands but I have had the best luck finding it at fastening supply houses. Auto stores around here just don't carry the stuff. Most of the time it's under a "Chain Lube" name

I use the Gunk brand with moly. Available at Fleet Farm in this area.

I use HP Chain Lube with Moly. Its a Pro Hondo product. Got it at a local motorcycle shop. Cost was $6.49. I got over 175 hours on one cleaning and lube. Didn't really need to clean it then but thought it might be a good idea anyway. I use a infra red themometer CW-Parts.com to keep track of tempertures.

Check your Wal Mart, got my last can of liquid wrench chain lube there. Make sure it has moly in it.

When we first got our machine we looked all over the valley and could not find Liquid Wrench w/moly (or anything else w/moly in it) anywhere. We finally ordered some other brand from a specialty store and wouldn't you know it the moment it arrives Liquid Wrench w/ moly is everywhere.:( Go figure!
