View Full Version : It just died?

My CW had just started, was running no more than a couple of minutes, when it just stopped. The control panel was blank. Toggling the on/off switch did nothing; there is power to the unit.

Suggestions?

With the power off, I would remove the pcmcia card and reinsert. Perhaps it wasnt fully seated?

Doug, if you're referring to the memory card, I just tried that and no luck

Very likely the L2 coil on the power supply problem.

If you search "L2 Power Supply" you will find pictures of how it breaks.

Hope this helps..

Take the muffler out.... Lay the machine on it's back and turn it on....

If the display comes on.... The L2 on the power supply is broken.

Laying it down lets gravity push the coil wire back together.

It is just a troubleshooting trick. You still need to order a power supply.

Check the LCD Dimmer too....

Ok, I just tried that but still no luck. If you say that I need to order a power supply anyway (the machine only has about 12 run hours on it, why would it need to be replaced so soon?), exactly how would I go about doing that. And is there a video that shows how to replace it? Thanks.

The power supply is easy to replace.

Un plug unit.

Lay on back

Remove bottom

Remove plugs for power supply

Remove screws for power supply

Remove power supply.

Install new power supply and your good using the reverse of the following instructions.

The L2 on the vibrates and snaps the wire. They are glued but if the girl over in China does not put enough glue on the coil the QC vibration snaps the coil wire. A Very Common Problem. I replacement power supply will most likely have much more glue....

Thumping on the top hard part of the machine can vibrate the coil to make contact too....

Good Luck,

AL
