I saw in a thread somewhere recently..think your modelling thread maybe...I just noticed this when importing models it loses about exactly what you said approximatly 33-35%...why out of curiousity?

Hello John,

All 3D programs has local measurements and world scale measurements or units. Each program has it own octree or world size sphere.

If I have a neck for the mandolin thats 14" long in Lightwave its always
14" long. However if i import it into Maya it still 14" long but Maya's word size is 30% bigger. I just need to rescale the object world size as a way to translate 1:1 of scale it so it matches.

After loading the neck into Designer STL I rescale the word size or "scale factor" back to LW unit size 40% bigger it this case. if it's not 100% right you can scale it up or down in Designer remember that the 7 degree carving bit will take up to 3 /32 waste overall so some oversizing is necessary anyway.
