Here are the first 2 of 6 tumb stones I'm making for a grave yard scene for a Holloween party. Believe it or not they are made from old partical board shelves (with the real simulated wood grain sticker) and they cut great. they are 12 x 24" x .5" . John Doe took and hour +/- , Inmate one took 35 minutes. The stars are the only raster part, the rest was cut centerline with a 90* v -bit. Then hand painted.

David,
VERY nice. Any chance of getting the carvewright file so I can see how you did them. I am new to the unit, thought I have had it for a while, it's been sent back a couple of times and replaced, and am waiting for the bits that broke. So I have some time to play with the software a bit.
Thanks

David,

Great signs, but for the sake of accuracy, Folsom wasn't the site of a prison in California until 1880, so if your date is 1849, and if the hanging was due to a State execution in 1949, hangings was replaced by the gas chamber in California in 1937. So either a date after 1880 for Folsom (which accounted for 92 executions by hanging) or San Quentin prior to 1880. But then, how many seeing the signs would really know or care that<g>.

Well I was close, I knew Folsom came to be in the early to mid 1800's but didn't bother to check. As you might have guessed I pulled thes numbers out of thin air, so don't look to much into the dates for Jack the ripper, cause they were based on the paticular #'s I was having good luck cutting in such a fine stroke, not to much else. Always testing.

It's still a great sign, and a fantastic idea for the season, David.
