I downloaded 1.63 now the computer locks up and I have to shut it down by cutting power. How do I uninstall this version and reinstall 1.53? It worked just fine. I can't find 1.53 in my downloads. HELP, PLEASE!!!

Hi Jerry,

It is not a bad idea to do some prep work before installing a new version for "just in case scenarios". I have not had to revert back to using previous versions for a long, long time, but I still make copies of previous versions as outlined in the following post (see link below), BEFORE I install newer versions.

By the way, I installed 1.163 and do not have any computer lock-up problems. Did you try a reboot to see if that 'fixes' your problem?

Anyway, here is the link to instructions on keeping previous versions "alive"...

Thanks for the replies. My plate is full this week so when I get back to this, I'll post the results. Thanks for the help.

Well, here's what I did. I deleted the Design program and reloaded from the disc then updated to 1.53 (Thanks PCW). I was able to upload the project to the flash card then the program locked tight. I had to shut the PC down manually. Looks like I need a Geek???

Over the three years I've had my CC, I've dealt with several "Z" stalls. Today
had one and found that the ribbon on the back of the Z-pack wasn't fully seated. Previously, the carving bit was loose and slipping in the adapter, and another time sawdust built up in the code disc chamber.

Thanks guys for the help. Sure is nice, the cordial nature of this forum...can calm some fairly frayed nerves:p:):D

Sounds like you need to do a restore to an earlier date or if that fails just do a recovery back to factory settings. If the geek squad set you up then you should have the recovery discs. Good luck, (I've done that many of times myself and now I'm good at it, so what did I do but go out and buy a new puter with windows 7.....love it too.)
