Haven't worked with the Carver in about a 3 months, then today my 11 yr old ran over his dog with our golf cart and he wanted a plack for the headstone, so I loaded the pattern and went to carve and I keep getting power fluctuation for about 5 or 6 times then I get Zaxis stall, error 303. Can anybody help?

I had the same problem I was running to many machines on the same cirucuit. I now have each machine on its own breaker including my dust collectors.

Check the breaker in your breaker box make sure it is seated, and it is in the on position on the rocker switch. You can also turn the breaked off and back on just to be safe.

Check your electric load on the circuit that you have your machine pluged into. See if your geting 120v through it .

Checked breaker and its fine, only the over head light and CW on it. After checking and ran again, got z axis stall error 313 now. Runs through board measure and bit load fine, then gets to carving and lets me down! Just a bad day I guess!!!

Check the cables at the back of the machine. Check the cable running from the back of the spindle moter and make sure they are seated good. I have had them to come lose from time to time. I check them 1st before every carve.

OOps, just found out the golf cart charger and the CW is on same breaker, will try now without the charger on.

Spindle motor, I'm pretty much an amiture typing and carving, which wire are you talking about? I've wore out the manual looking for different things but i haven't seen a spindle motor.

took off top cover and checked all connections, still get power fluctuations. Should I check the power cord connections on the bottom?

Sorry to hear about the Dog.

There is a L2 Coil on the Power Supply that vibrates due to the QC and snaps off. It is the reason for the Power Fluctuations as it is like a loose Fuse.... It is on the output of the power, a Filter Choke.

The L2 power causes the Z Stall.... Unless you have the OLD 16 pin FSC....

Searched "L2 Power Supply" and got this pile of posts. This will help seeing my pictures.

Check out this set of posts for the pictures of what the 16 and 14 pin Z FSC Cable looks like...

If you have the old 16 pin FSC Cable you want to change to the 14 pin as soon as you can. You get Z Stalls with the old 16 pin thin wires.

Good Luck,

Took upstairs apart and cleaned, put back together and same thing, then took a rag and sprayed with liquid wrench and rubbed over x and y and went to 73% before got power fluctuation again. Doesn't make sense but I'll try anything. Maybe I'm missing something.
