You can place a carve region over the entire project... BUT you will then have to use a wider board than your project calls for OR you can use rails or a sled with rails. The rollers always need to have something of constant thickness to ride on.

Hope that helps,

This attachment shows raised text in a carve region. Note the text settings. I also added a Small Draft to keep from having chipped letters.

Hello Jerry,

Glad you got your answer so quickly.

Be sure to read through the Tips & Tricks newsletters. Your question was a very common one, asked many times by newcomers to the wonderful world of the CarveWright. The carve region solution (i.e., in regard to your raised lettering question) was covered in a couple issues:

- ISSUE 3 December 2007 "Handy Tips for Everyone!" (http://www.carvebuddy.com/PDFs/CW_TipsandTricks_Newsletters/CarveWrightTips&Tricks_Dec07.pdf)

- ISSUE 13 October 2008
"Tips, Common Questions & Answers Part 1 " (http://www.carvebuddy.com/PDFs/CW_TipsandTricks_Newsletters/CarveWrightTips&Tricks_Oct08.pdf)

You are bound to have more questions, but you'll have fewer if you have the chance to read all the Tips & Tricks (the main link to them is below my signature). I hope you'll enjoy reading those, along with learning more about taking care of your machine and running projects.

As always, if you can't find an answer using the handy Search Feature here on the forum (or from the Tips), please don't hesitate to post your question. Lots of nice folks here ready and willing to help!
