I got a Rockchuck from Ron and I purchased a 1/16" cutting bit from LHR and would like to know what the depth of this bit and any other should be for the Rock. The 1/16" cutting bit is only 1 1/2" long total.
Thanks,
Jim

I read some wear that the 1/16" bit is only good for 1/4" material.

I would suggest that you choke up on the entire 1/4" part of the shank if you are in the 1/2" version of the Rock Chuck. You will be able to slip the tool out by pulling the head of the sleeve down. If you are in the 1/4" version of the Rock, you will need to leave just enough of the 1/4" shank exposed to be able to have something to hold on to, in order to get it back out of the chuck.
Happy Carving,
Ron
