I'm not sure if this would be a techniques question or not. But being on the forum for a while now I see some members have been on since 2007, with over 400 posts, junior's, how does one excell to become a senior member?

How.... 1. Spent WAY too much time on the Computer posting WAY too many reply to everyone's questions.....

2. Speaking for myself.... I don't have a social life.... Just WORK.... Snicker.... and stay logged on most of the day or check the forum often...

I am not sure what the number is for Senior Member.... I went over 4000 a while back... This is my Extended Family....

Yeah, I seen just a short while back where someone just got into the 4K club, took me a while to figure that one out.

Less than 500 posts.. junior member... 500-999 - member status. Over 1000 posts senior member. 4000+ posts... just call them gods.....

I am thinking that to become a senior member the number of post is something like 1,000 or 1,500. but that is what i am thinking....

I have to agree with Al this becomes your extended family very quickly. I love it here and there is alway someone that can help you and some times i can help someone else.
so CarverJerry just keep posting and asking questions and posting your projects and it will not be long before you are a member and then a Senior member. I have just started posting much on here, i think it takes 500 to become a member.

I have to agree about the extended family. It is very addicting, I'm on here every day and nite. I read all the new posts, where I learn what kind of problems others are having and learning how to fix them. I just hope I don't have these kinds of problems with my machine. So far I've done almost everything on my jig, saving myself that 7" and I know my jig is exactly parallel.

So Doug, looks like you're not far from the 1K mark.....keep it up.

Yep.. closing in on it. I'm just glad they credit all posts.. if it was only for correct answers i'm probably closer to 100! ;)

Well I'm really new here and I've been helped out by all types of members. Juniors, Members, Seniors and Staff, you guys are what makes this thing work. We bought our machine "refurbished" and based on the info that we got here we figured we would be spending some money sorting things out but I have to say that without the help of the forum members we would have spent more and probably have given up.

Thank you all!

Perhaps it's time for LHR to consider creating a new classification for the individuals that dedicate a significant amount of their time and talent to the member's and guest's of this forum. Any Thoughts?

Greg,

Your post got me thinking of 2007 (also the year you registered) and the people that helped me accept the responsibility of getting to know the machine.

I find that I now have more posts than several of them that I recall well from that time, a few no longer post here. Jeff Birt came on line as a moderator after Greybeard, Bob Hill, and Paul Kunkel (that I recall) - all have been very helpful to all of us and have taken abuse from more than a few unhappy people.

Of the many users that were posting at that time that are still with us - here are four of them (alphabetically) Brandon MacDougall (LG), Ken Maurin, Michael Tyler, and Al (Who) Ursich that have Senior status going back some time.

There were many more that added greatly to my understandings that I did not list. And, there are people skilled in so many areas like Mike (Autobody) who is a REAL carver and those that can really add colors like Lin and Floyd (here is where I'm getting into trouble because there are at least three others that should be named here, probably more).

It is nice to see members stepping up to the plate so to speak to add their learnings to the database and help new people by answering questions that have been asked and answered sooo many times before the new member gets the hang of the Search feature.

Total agreement on this one too! Count yourself in that list of those who have learned and are more than willing to pass the learning onto others as they venture into the CW experience.

I for one am just a new of the newbies on this forum. 4 weeks and 9 hours counting...

I'm in this for the long haul and very much love the help so many of you have put forward!

It's this forum that makes it so great for folks like me. I may be mechanically inclined and have the ability to figure out the different software types but, these Guru's that step up to the plate to help and share thier experitise make all the differances in the world! Keep it up Guy's!

Thank you Michael, Floyd, and Chris, I've enjoyed the "family" here for more than three years - great group.

Chris, forgive me if I was wrong in thinking that you joined in a little later than the four I mentioned, believe me it was not a slight. For a year or so you nearly carried this forum!

Many resources here, I have taken the liberty of contacting a couple of people to take advantage of their expertise - Jerry Christofferson was the most recent I think.

I'm with the crowd here, Ken. Your expertise has been a great benefit to a whole bunch of us. When I first got started here three years ago, all of the afore mentioned jumped in with tutoring and tips that had me addicted to this very amazing and sometimes damn frustrating machine. My gratitude is unending...THANKS!

I have to say that the forums and all you guys being so willing to offer your help and knowledge was a big factor in my decision to buy a Carvewright.

I had strongly considered a different machine, but it was you guys that swayed me into buying a carvewright, because I knew if I had questions or needed advise you would be here to help.

I have learned a tremendous amount here and it has really helped flatten out the learning curve. Every one of you who shares your knowledge or ideas here deserves a very big thank you.

LHR tech support has been fantastic to me, but it's the community that makes this machine what it is.

The thought never crossed my mind buddy. I was just throwing my 2 cents worth of appreciation for you and all you've done for everyone here. In fact, I've been out of the loop so long now I feel like I've come full circle and I'm approaching "newbie" status again...... http://forum.carvewright.com/images/icons/icon11.gif ......LOL

Now that the weather is getting to a point where I can set my CW up again, I hope to change that soon.

Everyone gives, gets and shares here. Such a great place and such wonderful folks. I have many "family ties" here now and that means so much. And you of course, are at the top of that list my friend! http://forum.carvewright.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

This forum is a great place to learn. I myself picked up alot of information here when I first started as a tech. I spent countless hours reading through the posts and all the information. It is a great way to learn as a new user and as a tech...

Thank you to everyone that takes the time to post and share information. It is greatly appreciated by everyone.

In the earlier years some of us were actually senior members and then we got demoted.

Now I'm clawing my way back one post at a time.

.

LOL...go for it brother.

My "member status" was never much of an issue to me (Although it is fun... http://forum.carvewright.com/images/icons/icon10.gif)

Just being part of the group is what counts. I didn't help a soul here until I was helped by many other souls first. http://forum.carvewright.com/images/icons/icon14.gif

That's just how we roll here.

I asked a question back on 2-1-2010, and now I find myself at that senior member level. Maybe someday I'll catch up with AL WHO, lol....but at my age now I'm not holding my breath. Many thanks to everyone for answering all my question which most likely pushed me to this 1K mark, but I have learned so much about my machine just being here on the forum. You' all have a great day now ya hear.
