opening designer from the forum

I have 2 computers licensed for the disigner program. On my desktop when I click on a file to download from the forum it give me the option to open (the designer program) save, or cancel. My laptop when I click on it the options are find, save or cancel. Can anyone tell me why I can't open my designer from the forum like I do on my desktop? Does anyone else have this problem? Thanks

No comp. expert by any means, but are they running the same operating system?

Go to MY COMPUTER double click to open (right click also works).
You need to set the way you wish the PTN file to open.
I've outlined the path to get you to the option. Once you highlight the PTN status line, you select the GUI program as your standard opening method.

You probably need to do the same with MPC files

Thanks, I'll give that a try as both machines are running XP pro. It used to work ok but had to do a recovery and now it's like I described. I'll try it.
