I had a board in the CW and was trying to joint it. The board was a piece of oak 11.2X11.2X.75. When I input to square the end it measured the board and said it is to thick to joint. I have joined an identical board with the same bit (3/8" straight) in the past with no problem. I put a different board in and measured it. The board was .75 thick and it measured it as .5 thick. Any ideas on whats going on?

Right around 60. The heater had been on for about 5 hours and blows almost directly on the CW.

I have a Rock.

Are you sure that you bit is secured properly in the (collet) Rock? You may be getting drift with the bit.

Yeh, I'm pretty sure it's in securely. I always look at it closely after I tighten it and I make sure I tighten the RC firmly.

I would try using the 1/16 carving bit just to double check the measurment functality.
