Hello,
Can anyone offer tips as to why when I am making a plaque type of thing...it will be carving perfectly...then all of a sudden it is as if the carvewrite messes up as if a child was scribbeling. So the top of the sign/ plaque is great and then the bottom is a mess.
Thank you,
Bart

Hi Bart,
Welcome to the CW Forum
The same thing happened to me a couple of times back in "07".
the stamped corrugated bearing sleeve worked its way out of the bottom of the carving head,
once half way out the second time completely out and dropped on my project board.
Also loose bits or bit adapters can cause erratic carving,
you might want to check to see if any of the truck bearing are loose and allowing the Z or Y truck wobble around.

It COULD be something as simple as the board's edges not being parallel to each other - the board binding in one way or another will make the machine go kerflooey (that's my technical word for the day).
Or not having the requisite 3.5" on each end of your project can hurt you as well.
