Seems like our family was busy last winter and we had three new babies arrive this summer. I made these plaques as their first Christmas Present from their great uncle. The wood is mahogany. The pattern was purchased through the CW store. The text is centerline. I wanted to make them nice but also keep them simple. I only painted the wings of the angel.
I was surprised, this was the first time I tried mahogany. It carved Ok, thought it would carve a little better. But it sands/finishes really nice.
Made 10 different gifts for Christmas and am almost done. Have to re-do one of them, the wife wanted to stain it really dark. I warned her that it would be too dark. Now she doesn't like it. So time to re-do that one. Thank goodness it was only a piece of pine and a real simple carve, mostly centerline text.
Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas. And thanks to all on the forum that has helped me out over the last year.
