I am trying to rout a mortise using the carve region button and the mortise comes out too big. It is carving outside the lines I think. I notice some little white hash marks inside one of these objects, and on another, the hash marks are outside the drawn box. What does that mean? how do I move those if I need to? That flip feather thing doesn't seem to affect anything that I can see.

Does this help?

If not, there are many more tips if you search "offset" (use the quote marks).

Perhaps it would be better to use the 1/8" Cutting bit or the 3/8" bit.
