was joining a piece of black walnut and stopped to turn board over and vacuum out and now LCD says Close cover and won't clear...Lee

Use the " " around your SEARCH words for "Close Cover" "Vacuum Damage" "Static Electricity"

You 1 just bumped the wire from the left cover switch in the back and it unplugged.

or

You 2 KILLED your machine with the Static Electricity Generated by the plastic Hose of your Vacuum.

The better the quality the Vacuum hose the more Carbon in the Rubber to dissipate the static. The cheaper the plastic hose of a shop vac the higher the voltage. Machine ON, Cover open Mid Carve, Cleaning out the sawdust hearing all that nasty dust and wood chips flying into the Shop Vac product THOUSANDS or VOLTS of Static Voltage and KILL the Electronics.
