I am getting a couple of errors that are related, (I think). The first thing is when I load a board and it starts to measure the board. The little screen comes up with the message "Check Trackong roller" Enter=Proceed Stop=Abort. If I press Enter to Proceed it just sits there and does nothing. If I press the Stop key it pops up with the following message "Tracking ssensor fault Error 315 Press Stop. The other day I was having the problem with the Tracking, so I checked the forum and found a posting that said to look at the O Ring on the Brass. I noticed that the O Ring was gone so I found a new O Ring and put it on the Brass, but I am still get these error messages. I have taken the whole tracking system out and cleaned all of the system.
Does any one have any ideas? Is it the sensor on the back of the Brass?

Thanks for any information.
John

Just a thought, but make sure the first o-ring didnt just get pushed under the plate where the brass roller sticks out from. If the roller isnt spinning very freely, I would look for that. Mine has done that a few times in the past.. first thought was o-ring had broke and I when to replce it.. and the notice is was just pushed under.

The roller spins freely. When I took the roller unit apart to put on the new O Ring I cleaned it very good and the old O Ring was no place. I guess if it broke it got sucked into the vac.

Well I’ve been getting acquainted with my new CW over the last few days and have had mixed success. My difficulties I think I can blame on myself. The first couple of attempts at carving a pattern didn’t turn out so well. I think I pushed the wrong buttons when the CW asked a question. My third try went off without a hitch. After that I figured I had it licked so I proceeded to my next project. I downloaded some patterns and put together a project, uploaded the project to the CW memory card, put it into the CW and proceeded to carve my next project. The CW promptly started to measure my board and then spit it out and gave me a tracking error. I tried again with the same result so I read the manual trouble shooting section and looked through past forum posts and made sure the CW was clean and tried tape on the bottom edge of the board and tried again, same results. Next I put a different board in and hit “measure” and the CW promptly measured the board with no problem. Then it hits me, the CW has a minimum thickness requirement of ˝ inch. I rechecked my board with a tape measure and it is right at ˝ inch. I decide to recheck the thickness using a micrometer. The micrometer reads .493 inches. When the CW says ˝ inch it means ˝ inch. I went to a thicker board and the CW carved the pattern with no problem. A simple solution but a lesson well learned.
