I tryed to make a 45 degree angle with the 90 degree bit.. My thought was that i make 3 staggered cuts for a 0.75 inch board (Bottom Right Cut) first cut 0.5 from edge 0.25 deep second cut 0.75 from edge and 0.5 deep and the third cut 1 form the edge and 0.75 deep... This looked great in the software however when I tryed to carve it the carvewright said the 90 degree bit would have truble doing it and asked if I wanted to continue so I did and what I got was not what I wanted (Top Right Cut). I have the Rock Chuck so I can control how far the bit sticks out so I tried something else.. I Did everything the same as above except I told the carvewright that I was using the 3/8 jointing bit (Bottom Left) but when it asked for the 3/8 jointing bit I put in the 90 degree bit and it worked great ... As far as i can see there is nothing that can be dammaged doing this however I still say this is a do at your own risk thing ;)

Can you post any pics of the carve that didnt work as well as the one that did? I think that would make it much clearer for me to unerstand what you have written.

I can post pics of the one that worked but the one what did not work is gone I had to cut my carveing out of it using my miter saw :( .. However it looked just like the top right cut form the screenshot.

I am trying to get pics for you but I am having troble makeing them small enough for the site to let me upload them :-(

I can not seem to be able to get them small enough and still keep the quality so I uploaded them to my site

SMV,

The only issue I might see with this is the possibility of different feed rates for the bits. How was the motor load when doing the carve?

Sizing photos, If you want a real simple and quick way to re size you images for up loading try this link http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

it is a Microsoft download.. you just left click the image, look for the "resize pictures" and click on it. It gives you a choice on the size you want it be. It will make a copy of the image at the size you tell it to. I have even used it in the pop window when you are selecting the image for the down load process.

I watched the carve so I could stop it if it looked like it was going to mess up and the moter did not seem to sound any diffrent than it did with the 3/8 jointing bit as it did with the 90 degree.

Thanks for the info on the resize program sadly it looks like it will not work with windows 7 :(
