Driven,

Do a search for "bass" , "fish". (use the quote marks) There have been more than several posted you might be able to use..

And welcome to the forum!!!

Try here:

I went to Carvewright - Patterns and put "bass" in the search. Came up with 3 decent ones you might be able to use...

Its a good place to bookmark, you never know what you might find there...

That's a great pattern, but it has three sopts in the background. We would need the MPW file to remove them.

This one was posted on the forum a few years back.

Agreed that is a great pattern!!! But like BJB said..

Possible work around on the Fish.ptn file would be to draw a rectangle around the 3 unwanted holes and make a carve region and set the depth to 0 or whatever you need to make the holes disappear.

How about, a touch of dot sanding in a Carve Region,
or keeping the dots outside of the Carve Region.

Maybe you could use some water to cover it up.

Work-A-Rounds are OK if the Patterns are Free, but they are best fixed in the Pattern Editor. Just look at then in the grayscale mode. The noise will show as black dots.

BJB,

You may run into problems with some free ptn files,
and you have to try a few work arounds.

Ken,

I may not be wrapped to tight but it makes the project more enjoyable for me when I do the workarounds. I think the design part of CW/CC carving is half the fun.

Very true Ken, that’s why I stated in post 5, the MPW file, is need. The Department of Defense CD's I make include the MPW file for the 400+ patterns so others can change the PTN's if they like. I do not like to buy patterns with out that file.

BJB,

I totally agree with the need for MPW files,
and wish we could add them to our posts,
using the "Manage Attachments" Option.
I have supplied mpw's to folks by Email,
that have PM'ed for them.

And Dan,
I've been tripping over my loose Wrapping for years now.

I couldnt agree more, however as mentioned in other threads, you can always just zip the mpw before posting. The forum does allow posting zip files.

Thanks, looks like one of them Florida fish - I lived there from 1960-63 in Fort Myers - We used to have fish fry's with a fish that looked like that. (Mullet)
