Hi tagstudios,

You use the Key pan Menu (0-3) to find the time on your machine.
The Cut-Motor time is the one people want to keep tract of.
This quote is stright from the owners manual.
Also check the Site I listed below near my name for loads more
Answers and Info about these Machine.

Configuration Menu Options
The configuration menu allows the user to set project and machine
settings as well as access important run-time and serial number data. To
access the Configurations Menu, select the “0” (Options) key at the
CarveWright Main Menu

or use the up/down arrows to locate the menu
and press ENTER. Use the up/down arrows to navigate to the following
menu options:
1) Quality (Default, Draft, Normal, Best)
The Quality menu option lets the user change the carving quality of
the project on the fly. Selecting default will use the settings selected
in the Designer software.
2) VersionThe Version menu option will display the version number of the
control system firmware.
3) Usage Odometer
The Usage Odometer menu option will display the usage of the
machine in hours and minutes.
4) Show Serial Number
Selecting the Show Serial Number menu option will display the
machine’s unique serial number.
5) Jog Touch (Off/On)
Setting this option to On configures the machine so that the user is
required to manually set the location of the bit tip for the surface find
operation. During the project setup, the machine will prompt the user
to jog the bit tip over the location on the workpiece that will serve as
the top surface for the project. This is particularly useful when there
are already features carved into the material that prohibit the
machine from automatically detecting the top surface of the material.
The default setting is Off, which allows the machine to automatically
find the top surface of the material.
6) Calibrate offsets
The Calibrate Offsets function is a simple procedure to allow the user
to fine-tune the machine for improved accuracy.
7) Sensor Check
The Sensor Check menu options allow access to all of the machine’s
real-time senor readings.
Sleep After (off, 1, 5, 10, 15, 30, 45, 60 minutes.
The Sleep After option is used to set when the electronics go into a
low power sleep mode. This interval is measures from the last
keypad command.

Here's another "dummy" question. When my machine cuts the piece to size, how can I tell it to cut no more than .25 per pass?

I know how to do it in the designer for cut out, but can I tell the machine something similar.

Yesterday I was watching the machine cut a cribbage board and I thought ; "Wow, that's cutting too deep, hope the bit doesn't break." That was two seconds before the bit broke.

I Can't answer that one for you, I've never used my Machine for doing Cut-Offs,
to much stress on the 1/8" Cutting Bits, plus more time and ware & tear, on the cut motor.
I use a Table, Radial Arm, or Compound Chop Saw to do my Board Sizing or Cut-offs.
Someone else may have an idea or more Helpful answer for you.

Hello Shacky,

There is a Tips & Tricks issue that covers that thoroughly, and I think you'll enjoy learning about that feature. (You may want to read all the Tips issues - lots of info that you will find very handy...the link to them all is below my signature.)

Here is the link to the particular issue that illustrates the multi-pass feature option:

Tips & Tricks - ISSUE 12 September 2008
"Designer 1.131 New Feature Highlights " (http://www.carvebuddy.com/PDFs/CW_TipsandTricks_Newsletters/CarveWrightTips&Tricks_Sept08.pdf)

EDIT: I just re-read your post. I think I misunderstood you the first time. I gather you are cutting your boards to size at the machine and wanted a multi-pass at that point. No - not possible at this time, but more importantly as mentioned already, cut your project boards to the proper size before putting them into the machine. Safer, quicker, and less wear and tear.

If you are referring to cutting out the cribbage board AFTER the carve/drilling, then fine - you can use the Cut Path Feature and set a max. pass in the software for things like that.

Michael,

Thank you. The tutorials are great and I do need to study them more.

Your edit was to the point. I wanted to know that if I selected "Cut Board to Size" on the machine, could I make sure it would multipass.

With the cribbage board, my mistake was to not draw a rectangle around the board and choose "cut out." Then I could have picked multipass. I will next time.
