The z-axis was "lumpy" when push up and down it jerked ,so I disassembled it . One bearing had dirt in it I removed the seal and with air got it smoothed out . What if any lube should I put in before putting the seal back? and where can I find z-axis adjustment specs?

Norm,
Use lithium grease for the gears and bearings in the gear box.
For the z-axis take a look here

There is a pdf for the z-motor/pak replacement. That should give you the info you need.

Sawdust in the Cogs of the belt and dirty rails and bearings, especially that area between the upper and lower rollers.
