I always thought that the speed of the Z-truck going back and forth across the Y-axis was probably based on the speed of the motor if the motor met with more resistance the truck would slow down in order to give motor time to get rpm's back up once back up truck could speed up again (all this happening very fast). But today i had to start a carve over. It was more than half way through so when i started it over the first half was just carving air(going through the motion but not taking more wood off) i noticed that the deeper the bit was the slower the travel, the shallower the faster. It makes sense, since normally deeper would be more resistance but does that mean that the rpm's does not have any thing to do with the speed of the truck on the Y-axis ?
