I have read all about z-axis stall on this site but could not find the answer to these questions. Thanks for your help in advance.
I was cutting a lithopane of an image yesterday in Corian. There is an area in the photo I was carving that is white so this area gets cut the deepest. But when I get to this area I get a y axis stall.
So, these questions:
1. I was cutting into Corian with depth settings of .180 and 500. The Tips and Tricks article says to use these settings. Should a 1/16" carving bit be able to cut this depth into this material without stalling, especially a very small, very deep cut area surrounded by shallow cut area?
2. I notice my carving bit feels a bit dull. Could a dull bit be the problem? How long do carving bits last? I have 35 hours on the bit carving mostly Poplar wood and Corian.
3. How deep can this machine cut without y axis stalling?
Thanks.
