Need to some help to figure this out. I have attached the mpc and and would attach the ptn but it's too lage to upload. This is a pattern for a leg of a bench I am carving. I set this up to have the cutting bit cut out the peice. The project is 3/4 deep and the board is 3/4. The only thing that should be carved is the chip carving peices in the leg. When I set this up the bottom of the mpc show a small cut out on the botton around the outline of the pattern and the bottom of the leg . The top is fine. What I am getting at is I want the cutting bit to cut the pattern out but when I carved this the carving bit carved down about 1/4 of an inch on the bottom half as seen in the mpc show I end up with a jagged edge on that side. Is there a way so only the cutting bit cuts the outline and the carving bit doesnt touch it? I outlined the pattern and had a cut path around it.
If you remove the cut path and outline you can see what I mean.

Hope I explained this right

Thanks for your help

I would try to make a mask around the raster pattern and set to 0 depth.

I noticed that your raster is a few thousands low i would raise it a tad.

some conected lines with a carved region and set it to 0..

How do you raise it higher than 999?

and jiggly? i would go around it with lines and arcs then delete the cut path.
will save on sanding it smooth.
