I have played with this all morning. Can someone help me with it to be able to get it into the carve stage. Thanks

That's going to be a tough image to get to carve. What you see in a photo that makes you perceive depth is not what the CW Designer software sees for setting depth.

Do a litho instead!

You would have to convert that into a 3d model to get a good carving...very time consuming

Thanks!! I will try Stacey's tommorrow. I have never done a litho, I would not know where to start. I will have to read up on it. I felt like it would be hard to get it to the carving stage.

I like the MK 37 Gun Director up on top of the Bridge. That is what I did in my Squid Years. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ship_Gun_Fire_Control_Systems

My ships were slightly newer but all are gone now too..... 2 sunk as targets, 1 Razor Blades.

That is the beauty of a litho, the gray scale does not have to be modified to have it come out great!
It is no harder to carve than wood, you just need a light-source and frame/box.

I agree with Doc a litho would really look nice,
I also looked and found another photo of DD-759
and tried it in Designer as a .mpc for a Carving

Gosh Guys,

Really no Secret,

I just added a little more contrast to the Photo to make the colors
a bit deeper and stand out. Didn't even change it to Grayscale,
just loaded it into Designer. :???:
