I have been hesitant to upgrade to v.1.152. I'm still at 1.134 and it has been working fine.

Can I just install v.1.152? I don't quite understand the "firmware" ... will that be upgraded as a part of the v.1.152 upgrade??

Rick,

You can just down load and save 1.152 with out installing it if you like. Just click on the "save" in the pop up window. Designate the folder you want to save it to, 1.152 would be a good name for it. You can then install it when you want.

If you do install 1.152 the only firmware you can use with it is the 1.152 firmware. Each software version has it's own firmware. Prior to 1.152 you could run a different firmware version on the card than what your designer version was.

Rick,

Firmware is the "software" that the machine uses as opposed to the Designer software that we use. It is uploaded to the card when you select Yes to being prompted that A newer version is available, do you wish to install it?

I always save downloaded software to my "Downloads" folder on my Storage" partition. That is my backup. Then I install it from there. And I always upgrade my CarveWright software right away. In 1 3/4 years no problems. With CC Cleaner I had to back-up one issue and am reluctant to go beyond that. (That is a memory and registry clean-up utility).
