I've been asked to make an awards board for my Group (I'm active duty AF) Here is a pic of the plan--

I started by making the first lettering out of 3/4 mdf on my Carvewright. The letters are 8 inches high. I've now primed and put the first coat of black paint on the lettering. Here is a pic before primer

I also created the first of the carved shields for the board-- I'll work on the second this week. The aircraft is the one I fly in, an EC-130H and the carving itself is about 21 inches long. I wish I had created the relief taller, but this worked. The wood is red oak and the finish is gel stain wiped on and wiped off leaving some extra in the lines to add dimension.

I've attached the COMPASS CALL MPC for anyone that wants it
Thanks for looking

That’s a great looking project. Thank you for serving in the AF! That’s a very important job you do, keep up the good work. Oh, to reminisce, I jumped out after 22 ½ in the AF in the mid seventies, and it goes without saying, things sure have changed. Thank You again, we do appreciate you and all the others that serve.

Where are you that you get to play with c130's?

I did a couple of awards for LRAFB guys that were leaving if you need a loadmaster pic.

Thanks again guys,
I'm stationed at Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson AZ. The bird is an EC-130H COMPASS CALL jamming platform. I have a couple of years experience on this plane and a bit of time on RC-135s
