Well my baby brother is getting married (finally!!)

Mom and Dad have an ancient lazy susan in the middle of the dining room table-- it's BIIIG, 24 inches across and heavy as a cannonball... but it is perfect for holding all the food, condiments, etc when we all gather around the table

For years my brother has always told us (5 siblings) "in 50 or 60 years when Mom and Dad go to heaven, all I want is the lazy susan..." The last time he said it, I told him that all of us want him to have it (eventually, in 60 years or so...) but that in the meantime, I would be happy to make him one... he has been asking me about it ever since (for the last year or so)

Anyway, I made this for him-- it is red oak with a minwax oak stain and 4 coats of wipe on poly. I'll let it cure for a week or so and then give it a good wax buff.

the text is "seawolf" font, the lower case letters are about 1/2 high with the uppers being mostly just under 1 inch
Thanks for looking

In the .85, try removing the weight from the spine. It will sit deeper and easier to do a more conventional lazy susan and then add weight until you get the best compromise between yoyos and lazy moves.

Very nice, is the small hole in the base used to screw the bearings to the top?

That's the ticket... some folks plug the hole but I leave it and round over the edges so that if in the future refinishing is done disassembly is easy

Now the only problem is the fact that you have 3 more siblings - if my math is correct.
