I spent the day yesterday hunting down the Gunk Chain lube with Moly. I went to 4 different Ace Hardware stores and multiple Auto parts stores with now luck. Interestingly there is a Gunk Chain lube without moly. I thought I would order it online only to find that some places would only sell it in case lots and the ones that would sell individual cans, the shipping ended up being about $12. Finally I found the right stuff at the Tractor Supply Company. Their SKU for it is 0130164 the gunk part number is L716. If you call your local store they will tell you if it is in stock.

Greetings Carvertim! I played the same game finding it also ended up buying on line. Well worth the time no hot spots in a long time.

I live in San Diego. I found one place that carried it. It is Car Quest auto. If you have a car Quest in your areas, give them a call as they are listed as a regular carrier of this item on the Liquid Wrench/Gunk site and sure enough they had it here.

I went to ACE and they had no idea what it was. They sent me to the chainsaw section, but it was with all the other lubes in another part of the store.

I must say, however, after lubing up the flexshaft, it got really hot. I'm not sure what happened, so I re-applied the other moly lube I was using and it ran much cooler.

The Gunk didn't work for me either and it looks like Cranes Cams went out of business. I ended up using Isky Rev Lube that the car guys recommended as a replacement for Cranes. It works much better for me than the Gunk and its a lot less of a mess to work with.

Go by the local Honda Shop (motorcycles) and pick up a can of chain lube with moly. Honda's comes in a Black and White spray can with red writing. Clean up your flex shaft and re-lube with the Honda chain lube. It's what I started using after my flex shaft was getting so hot I couldn't touch it. Now I can't tell if it's warmed up at all. It just doesn't get hot, no matter how long the carve is.
Here's the link for Honda Oil and Chemicals.

Mike,
I saw your previous post regarding this chain lube, and I think I'll give it a try.

This is a reply back that I got on a question about the crane cam lube and S&S Cycles buying Cranes Cam.

http://69.20.53.62/ : CranesCam info on the sale..

Good morning,
S&S has not yet decided if Crane will continue to offer lubricants.
Crane will be grinding cams again in the very near future and we'll
hopefully know soon about other products. Thank you for your interest in
Crane Cams.

Thanks for the update, I've got enough Isky Rev lube to last the life of my machine so I'm set. A 4oz can cost around $9.
It seems like great stuff so far. I noticed that the cable spun much more freely using it than gunk and the flex shaft doesn't heat up anymore for me.

My Home Depot did not have it. I found it at ACE and Carquest.
