is there any way to convert DWG files to carvewright friendly patterns?
can the STI importer do this? or is there any other 3rd party mpc/ptn friendly software?

i also need a better way to design patters from scratch, FILL ME IN!

recommend me what software are you using to do this (the most complete)

or perhaps is there any other software that could sync .mpc files with the flash card?... i would assume that you could design with 3rd party software but the syncing will have to go through the proprietary software.... is this right?

DWG is an Autocad format. You will need another program to convert it. Autocad, 3DStudio, and Sketchup will work along with a ton of others and some that just convert formats

I think your best bet would be to convert your dwg to adobe illustrator ".ai", and then use ai2mpc to convert the illustrator file to carvewright. This should keep all dimensions. I'm sure there are a bunch of free converters for dwg/dxf to illustrator... but since i have illustrator I can't be of any help there.

I think the link to ai2mpc is still posted on the forum somewhere.
