I was thinking about purchasing a carvewright machine. Are they easy to use? Easy to catch on to? Need to sand the carvings? Easy to design carvings? Any information would help.

Thanks,
-Andy

Yes it is easy to use. The sanding will depend on the finish you want but it does a good job. Design also like sanding, depends on what you want. There are a lot of free patterns out there that can get you started.

The only suggestion I would give is to buy one from Sears with the 5 yr warranty or from Lowes and get the extended warranty. I don't know what Lowes offer now but both are good to deal with if you need to ship back for repair. Other places you have to pay to ship back.

The first yr or 200 hr you will need to contact LHR but they are very nice to deal with and most of the time they can help you with out shipping the machine in.

I have had two. The first I had a lot of trouble with but the second has run just fine.

This is my history with both machines
