I have used Gerber Mask II for carving through and it works well, but is a little expensive. I can get it for $3.40 per yard or $2.40 if I buy a 50 yd roll.

Does anyone have experience with a good alternative mask??

What is Gerber Mask II I have never heard of that. How does it work?
Thanks, Lee

I've seen a few people talk about using dollar store contact paper(shelf paper) for masking off carvings. I have not tried it yet, so I don't have any personal experience with it. Definitely cheaper than professional vinyl mask material though.

I bought a vinyl plotter from here a few years ago, still working great.
I found this paint mask and the top line a 50 yd roll would be 2.00 per yard

I have been spray painting my signs then sanding the top surface. This sound like a good idea - either the real stuff or the contact paper. thanks
