Layout Question

I know you can use a 14.5" wide board in the machine, can you carve a 14" piece in that same direction?

You must consider the "Rails" you will have remaining, for the "rollers to maintain compression. Some carves, that do not pass under the rollers, may work well. However, when that carve passes under the roller, you do not have much of a lip/rail remaining.

Bud the only reason I ask is the shape is basically a squashed triangle with an angle on the long edge. So I figured it would carve a little quicker

It will depend upon the length of the short leg of the triangle.
