The Screw Holding The Left Lower Bearing Broke While Carving Is This A Common Problem Or Just A Freak Thing?

When you say the bearing broke, do you mean the corner of the spindle casting broke off?.... It was common for the right bottom corner to break off hence the washer, but i havent heard of the left side breaking off. I would guess that you probably had the tension too tight on the eccentric bearings, and it was in a slight bind, which eventually fatigued, and broke off.

ok... that makes more sense... the screws are very soft, and most people order new screws when they are removing and/or replacing the Z truck. You may have just over tightened it a bit. Should be able to replace the screw and be on your way...
