In case I am the not the only one that didn't know I want to share something I found in designer
If you chose the rectangle tool and make a square neither your paint brush or eraser tool wil have any effect out side the rectangle line you can make a perfect square with any depth you choose.
I thought it was worth sharing,,

It's called captive selections and it's very handy indeed. It would be cool if it did what PSP X2 does. You can "invert" the selection to switch between the inside and outside of the selection line.
