Not sure how to title this question, but here goes.
I am experimenting with ways to get clip art files to work in the Design software. Basically, I opened the clip art in Photo Shop and deleted the background and saved as a .PNG
I then import them into the Designer and make a pattern out of them that is then saved in the pattern library under Favorites.
When I go to put them on an actual project, some of the clip art has a carved region and others have a simple outline around the clip art.

If you notice in the attached picture, in the pattern library on the right side it shows the patterns; some of these patterns have a black backround (which gives you a carve region) and some do not have a background (thus no carve region). How do you get your patterns to have this black background??

Well, I answered my own question.
When you make a pattern out of it, don't lower the background until it disappears. Leave some background so that it appears black in the pattern

Good job,

I looked at it earlier, but was not sure of the answer.
