I need help when carving letter .250 depth hight 100 on white pine. I get chip out on my letter even when using best opti. Can someone please help me.

If you add a little "Draft" to your text and space them out a bit,
it normally reduces the chip out. :wink:

Man, that thread seems a lifetime ago :p
That beer sign was the first thing I carved, and the letters chipped badly - draft is the way to go with your text - run a test carve - one simple line of text - with no, small, med and large draft. You'll be surprised, the text actually looks better with draft than without.
