Sign Making Help..Please

I am trying to make a simple sign and was wondering how to just choose simple text and cut with a v-bit?

I am just learning too. I think you can choose outline in the text selection window and then select the v bit of your choice and your off and carving.
I would purchase the centerline text option. It will be well worth it in the long run.
