Really cool!! Been thinking about doing that myself as well. Have you tried doing a 2 sided carve of them?

Thats all ive done with them so far, scanned them. I did scan both sides. Have not even attempted to carve due to a qc failure and waiting for new options. Looks like it will carve well though, the tallest piece was about 4" or so.
