Hey guys,

I'm new to the world of CarveWright and I was wondering if the machine would allow me to carve patterns and designs into already contoured pieces of wood. For example, if I wanted to carve a floral pattern into the armrest of a chair, would I be able to do so? It seems that the software is set up for starting a project out on a flat, square piece of material, not an already crafted one.

Any insight would be appreciated.

THanks!

The short answer is YES it WILL.

Take some time and read through the Gallery of projects and look for all the diverse projects.

It may take loading the arm of a chair on a sled that holds the carving surface near level. There are limitations to this method, but you may be surprised at what this little Giant can do. If it can fit inside the machine then it should work.

There is a 1 inch carving depth or slightly less than that.

If the part is odd shaped , you may have to have the probe (scanner). Then you can scan it and add carvings to the scan. happy carving
