When you install a new 1/4 in. solid carbide bit in the holder. Be very sure to use loc-tite and tighten both set screws very tightly. I also position the shank so that it is fully extended against the sholder of the flat on the carbide shank. If this is not done, the depth of the carving can extend into the pattern as the project proceeds. I learned this the hard way.

Thanks for the tip.

Any tips on who has the best price on carbide bits?

With router bits usually the more expensive the longer they stay sharp. With that said if you just need them for a short time why not get the least expensive. I found this place with the best prices and largest selection, that have bottom cutters, at Woodline , www.woodbits.com, next more expensive and has fewer bits is www.pricecutter.com, after that most are about the same price including right here at carvewright.
