I though I saw someone was using the CarveWright to make a wooden Propeller.

There is a guy over on the Engraving Etc. Forum looking for a Wooden Prop to make a Retirement Clock.... I thought it would be a pretty interesting project.... And I bet there could be a market for them.....

So if anyone is interested send me a email or PM and I will pass your info along.

With clock inserts easy to get at knockit.com this could be a interesting market.

How about a Project of the Month PROP Clock?

We all have Airports near us.... And Flying Clubs.... Flying Clubs.... = Disposable Income.

I am thinking 12, 18, 24, 36, 48 inch models....

I like it!

having a hard time getting the time to model it in 3D.
If anyone has a good prop in DFX or STL i will convert it for us.

i think the pattern store has a scan of one 2.

Here Ya Go AL,

Sad to say they closed both Airports near us -- to little Light air traffic and business I guess.

What kind of wood would these propeller be made of? You are talking about actual useable propellers, right? How would one balance such a thing, other than mounting it on a shaft and checking which way it leans?
Would be fun to make for sure.

Like to --- but I'm up to my eye balls too,
trying to direct 3 different instllation crews right now

Might be a good project for someone with a little more time to work on it

I tried to rotate the Prop 90 degrees after removing the restraints in length and can't move it and can't rotate it.. Checked all the centering stuff... Must have to rotate each element 90 drgrees then line them back up?? Tried that, no luck... O' well....

Another day... I was going to pop it into a clock as a plaque for a quick this is what you can do post over on Engraving Etc.

You would never want a Cross Grain Prop.... :)

Actually I never carved it, I drew it up last August
while my machine was down, and forgot all about it
till I read Al's post and had to go back yo look it up.
