This Guitar was created Kat VonD of the TV show, L.A. Ink featuring , and was shown with Bam Margera of Jackass fame, at her birthday party in March of 2009. Parts for the guitar were created by photographing her best selling book cover and importing into Designer. The top of the guitar was burned in a fire-pit, then wire brushed, before being put into a sled. All other parts were created with clay, then scanned with the probe, or drawn in Illustrator of Photoshop. Visit www.caraguitars.com (http://www.caraguitars.com) for more!

It is definitely a one of a kind and shows a lot of character. She is a very tallented body artist.

I guess I am from a different generation, but I don't quite see the "art" in that thing. Does she actually use it or what?

If it causes an emotional response, it's art... That guitar invokes a rough and difficult past, broken heart, broken promises, either that or one hell of a concert...8)

My wife and I actually have followed Kat Von D's career since she was on Miami Ink. That is a beautiful looking guitar! I bet it sounds just as great. If anyone has a link to any footage of the guitar, please link. We would love to see that.

That is definitely "sick and twisted". I love the charred look and the detail that was put into it. This shows exactly what the machine is capable of.

LG, Watch out. This guy is gonna give you a run for your money.

Looks great CG. I am sure that she was impressed. Did you get any free ink done for this one?

The only way for us to "watch out" so to speak, is NOT to share our ideas.. so I say bring it on Alex!

If you look real close at the picture it looks like he has a filling in his right rear molar. Pretty impressive dental care for the time!

Ha Ha Ha! Never realized that before. Good eye Jeff! You're right, that would have been pretty impressive for an ancient Spartan. :)

I can see it now!

A battle of the axes.

In the blue corner, hailing from the West coast, we have Brandon from Liquid Guitars.

In the red corner, hailing from the East coast, we have Cara from Cara Guitars.

Let the battle begin!

Don't get me wrong, "as he sharpens his 1/16" ball mill with a wet stone" I am looking forward to all the cool guitars that the CW will be working on!

Actually, according to Answer.com, "In ancient Greece and Rome, as in Egypt, dentistry was performed by general physicians. Practitioners were skilled in restoring carious teeth with gold and replacing missing teeth with false ones. "
http://www.answers.com/topic/dentistry

Of course in the case of spartans, they performed the dental jobs on themselves and without any anesthetic, 'cause they were tough:)
