...well, I had some free time today and I decided to make a date with Ms. Carve Wright.
I have been fondling her sister (CW Designer) for a few days now, and let me be the first to tell you....she is SWEET!!!! and has been a BIG help in getting Ms. Carve Wright and I "hooked up"...

Time: 1:00 PM
Place: The Shed
...so, I walk out, stick my card in her, and she instantly turned on...
I loaded my wood...and my eyes began to roll back into my head. Amazed at how AWESOME this machine is, even for a "newbie" like me!

I guess I should have kept the lid closed on the can 'O stain, the fumes must have gotten me a little silly in the head... ;) ...anyway...

Total time on the date was 2:59.
This was the first time I ever turned her on, and I have to say, "I'm very happy" so far...

Last nite I did a 'lil designin', and with the help of all the GREAT folks here I was able to carve my 1st project EVER without a single problem. Thanks guys...

Now that I have made my first carving, I can see where I need to "improve" on some things, like; depth of cuts, font choice & size ect...
However...the chips were flyin' and the addiction is just starting...:D

Mike, yes very nice! I have never heard of a carving experience described in such a way! Are you sure you were using the CW? LOL

Better turn on some exhaust fans and close all the stain lids!

Mike,

That looks great! Your gobbler really stands out with the great painting job. Your uncle will love it for sure and might even offer you some wild turkey!

Thanks for sharing the final results..

Carve Daddy,

That is a very nice piece of work, I like all aspects of what you did.
I was concerned about the knot, but I should not have been.

Thanks for all the kind words guys....
I would have never tried such a complex project for my first, if it were not for all the helpful "tips & tricks" I got from reading everyones posts on here....

Now, I just need to figure out how to get to sleep at night, with all these "possibility's" running through my head....:D

Mike

You should be very proud of yourself. I also was wondering about the knot but you did a fine job of blending it into the project. The only thing I would have done different and it is not that big of a deal is to put some dashes between the area code (xxx-xxx-xxxx) But it is great and they will love it. Dan
