I found a pretty good deal at Sears and thought I would share it with the group.

Craftsman 1/4 in. QuickRout Kit for $9.99 > The chuck will not work with CW but the but you can't beat the price on four 1/4 in. bit adapters for under $10.00. If you spend over $50.00 you will receive a 10 % discount.

http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00926691000P

Can I make a suggestion and request to have this turned into a sticky. It would be great for all.

Are you sure these Sears adapters will work in the CW Quick Chuck??

Hi Rick

I'm not 100% sure but there is a seller on eBay that sells the 1/2 adapter and claim that they will work. http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-CRAFTSMAN-QUICKROUT-COMPUCARVE-ROUTER-CNC-FREE-SH_W0QQitemZ120393551327QQcmdZViewItemQQptZBI_Tool _Work_Holding?_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116 I ordered some today and when I receive them I will let you know for sure. Maybe in the meantime someone from Carvewrite can comment on the compatibility. I don't want to take business away from CW store but this is a closeout with a limited supply. Dan

The adapters work just fine, same design. The QC fits a Sears Router not the CW.

This has been posted about a dozen times.

Thanks Dan & Al - I ordered 3 adapters from Sears.

I wonder if the CompuCarve has become to much of maintenance hassle for Sears to deal with and they decided to drop the product???

Maybe it is just me; but I would have to guess that there is more than $3.00 worth or carbide in a good router bit. It just makes me suspicious about how good a bit they could be. But they are cheap!

This company merged with Price Cutters. I have been using bits in my CW from Price Cutters for almost 3 years and never had one problem. I use their 45 and 60 degree v bits. Never have had to replace a QC and they are the only V- groove bits I use!

As forth to a $3.00 must be a clearance and a bit that is not too popular!

I just picked up a Ridgid R4511 TS and it looks like the rail on the front might be the same hole wise. I have been told that the Ridgid is a spin off of Steel City granite TS so you may look there also if you can get it from Ridgid you may want to see if the one from the 3660 is the same line up as it is reported to have a better fence

Speaking of good woodworking deals...

If you're not checking your local craigslist daily under the tools category, you're missing good stuff. Also, doing a general search will find some gems, too. I searched "corian" not too long ago, and found a guy selling 15x30 1/4" sheets for $5 a piece (unfortunately, not a good color for what we do, but it did get my attention).

I went to Lowe's last night and noticed they dropped the price on a Delta 10" (36-979) Contractor's Saw from $450 to $399. I went home and looked it up on the internet - MSRP was $999.00. Lowe's no longer has it on their web page so I think Lowe's has discontinued it. Rockler's had it on sale for $599 plus shipping. I showed it to SWMBO and to my surprise the asked me what I was waiting for. It was too late by then so I went down this morning to talk to them. I thought I would get the display model, but no, it is one in a box. They rang it up and the price had dropped again! Out the door for $363 and that included tax! Woo-Hoo!!! The Bessey fence was showing $150 but I have a good Incra Fence I am going to transfer to it. I may end up with a workshop yet.

What kind of oak is it? Red, white etc. Usually it is $3.00 to $3.75 I have seen it at $2.50 for red oak.

Is it $2.68 an board foot or linear foot? A 1 x 8" x 8' is 5.3 board feet and should cost $14.29. If cost it $21.44 then they are charging by the linear foot.

PS, just read it is rough cut, the prices I spoke of were for S4S boards, so $2.68 is an ok price

50 cents a board foot is and average price for saw mill lumber. It runs about 35 to 70 cents here in AR.

I have a lot of wood to cut up now. I had my trees trimmed after the Ice Storm in January. It is a lot of work moving the logs and cutting them.

The guys that did the trimming burn lots of pine logs and asked me if I wanted them. They just burn them; they said they will drop them off, no charge. He said there will be enough logs for me to build a shed for my saw mill. He wanted me to cut a few 4 by 4’s for him.

I Have lots of oak now, I cut down two large oak trees.

They are on the lower-right side of Otto Freid's May flier here (http://www.rhettfrei.com/ottoreport/2009/may/may.html).

The disks finer than 220 are less used, but produce very smooth finishes.

Hey Ken,
I just ordered a set. When you use them, do you just clean up with just one brush (and switching out) or do you use more than one on your dremmel. I ask because it states that you can use more than one at the same time. Just asking someone that's already using them...

Jerry,

I seem to go through them pretty quickly if I'm after a very nice finish. I generally use them three at a time. Any more and you can not get into very small places.

The red ones will probably be the ones you use the most, I got a gross of them the last time I ordered (that is where the price break is).

I have five rotary tools and have different grit disks and attachments in each one - easier than changing back and forth on one tool.

Dude ! This CW kinda reminds me of my Pontoon boat! If not careful, you can just keep putting money in to it all the time! Not complaining... just stating a fact ! ha ha I gotta figure out a way to make some money with this thing. Making gifts is nice, but it can get costly. Maybe I'll check with the local Masonic lodges and Police/Fire Departments to see what they might like. We've also got a National Guard Armory close by. Guess I need to make some nice stuff and take it out to em' and show it to them.

Jerry,

Of the rotary tools, one is 45 years old and the others were gradually collected. As for the CW/CC, I needed to make a Down-draft "Cart" for it (that is not really adequate). I then "needed" a thickness sander (the 16-32 looked pretty good to me), but that required a 1.5 hp dust collector (and some new wiring). The latest is a 12" disk sander for getting the corners "right" for some boxes I want to build.
The problem is that I have to keep working in order to pay for the toys.

I was in Harbor Freight Tools again today and I was talking to one of the staff. They told me the coupon was fake. I told them I had downloaded it off the web from a link in a woodworking site. She told me that they are aware of the fact that there are lots of fake HF coupons on the coupon sites - that's why they keep a REAL HF 20% off coupon at all of the registers. Smart on their part (as long as their margins allow it).

Here is a 1micron filter that I use with the HF 2hp dust collector. I highly recommend it. Noticed a 10% - 20% improvement in airflow after the replacement. $147 for the washable filter, but money well spent to keep the garage clean and protect my lungs.

Bought my first Rigid tool 5 years ago, 18v 3/8 cordless, took it to the local repair shop about a month ago and got two new batteries at no charge. Have a 18v 1/2 cordless hammer drill that meesed up while using the hammer option last fall and they replaced the gearbox along with the motor at no charge. Have an old Dewalt that the batteries are about dead, just have a problem paying as much for the batteries as Iwould for a whole new drill. That's why I went with Rigid. May not spec out as the best of class in some areas but definitely my pick for best value.

I replaced my Sears table saw that I bought in 1975 with a new Ridgid saw. The sears saw (even though serving well for over 30 years) never did run as smooth as the Ridgid. Now I have the Ridgid table saw, band saw, oscilating spindle sander and 6 inch jointer. I am very happy with all of them.

I looked on Ridgid's website - that warranty (technically a service agreement) is awesome!

It says, however, that it's for a limited time - then says you have to register within 90 days of buying the tool to get the lifetime service.

Do you guys know if that is the "limited time", and they offer the agreement as a standard practice?

Thanks

If you don't register the tools you don't get the full warrenty.

The 'limited' warranty has been the same on their website for at least 5 years. Am assuming they like evrybody else put a time limit on registering knowing some would not do it until it breaks. Like applying for rebates, if you don't then they save.
When you register they will send you an email acknowledging it and you will be able to check your status at their site at any time. If you have multiple tools they will all show up on your list. You can click on a tool that needs repair and they will provide you with a page to print out to take to your local repair shop as proof of warranty. As I noted in my earlier post they replaced the batteries on my 5 year old drill, no questions asked.

Badger,

The firmware/software currently has definitions (and some differences in depth of cut) for only two of these bits. That does not prohibit your use of them. The 22.5 degree bit will produce very fine detail even with the QC.

As far as I can tell, only the depth of cut is affected by your choice of 60 or 90. I do not have the 45 degree bit, but I believe it would help make small centerline text.

Hey Guys,
I’ve had a Couple of 22.5 degree Bits for some time now, I only used them for Centerline a couple of times
in place of the 90 degree bit for small fine text and it worked out well.
I do like using them for fine Vector line drawings, where you can set the depth of your cuts.

I would like to relate an experience of being treated like a valued customer. I needed a switch for use on my home-built router table. MLCS Woodworking had the best price of $29.95 for the switch I needed. It was also $10.00 cheaper than their competitors! Imagine my surprise when they shipped it to me for free! (It didn't take any more time than the places I have spent $12.00-$15.00 for shipping and handling.) I received it and the quality was very good. The router bits and other products look like a good deal as well. I will look to them next time to see if they have what I need. Take a look yourself and let me know your experience.

Looks interesting but....

My last name is not Sagan or Einstein, but I have an issue with their physics of what creates heat when sanding. The fact that there is “air” behind the paper does not negate the friction created during the sanding process. It may lesson the effects because of a lesser amount of pressure + friction, but there is still going to be heat generated. Additionally, I am not so sure these are that great a price. $235.00 for an 18" kit sounds great at first, but then add the recommended motor, wood, laminates, fasteners, and time (yes my time is worth money too), and you are quickly approaching the price of a 16"-32" drum sander. I also wonder about the lifespan of the hook and loop fastener on the drum. I think I will stick with my Jet 22-44, but watch the reviews on this one. If anyone buys one, I would like to hear your total costs involved and how it performs.

Another issue could be safety. There are guards in place on most drum sanders; on this one I see none.

Not if you give the paint or Finish the proper time to dry -- as per instructions on the finish cans lable,
But if you rush it, anything you use will leave a mark of some kind.
On small relatively light projects, like plaques or small signs you can get away with it,
for years I used to use flat blocks of wood with drywall screw tips sticking about 1/4" through them,
the little plastic Pyramids have replaced all of those.

JDPratt

These are are great idea, but you can make your own very easily. I just make four block of scrap about an inch think and screw a drywall screw up from the bottom. the project sits on the tip of the screw. So far has work on everything from small projects to large chests.

A word of caution - I've got quite a few of Chicago Electric's tools from HF - the quality doesn't come close to Dewalt, Porter Cable, etc., but I'm a hobby woodworker, and don't use my tools near as much as a pro would.

Overall, great value for the dollar.

So it the consensus on tools such as the die grinder that is is better to go for the low end and if/when it dies just replace it? I guess even at the "sale" price the Milwaukee was 4 times the cost of the Harbor Freight tool, but also I have bought too many "cheap" tools only to have them die in a few months.

Do a few of you own the HF die grinder and are still happy with it after a few months?

Let me tell you a quick story about service @ HF -

I bought a 10" sliding Compound Sliding Miter Saw from them - had it for 2 years.

Was cutting a 2x4, got it bound up, and the shock from the bind/kick back was so great, it broke the cast base of the saw (didn't hurt me, but my arm was sure sore).

I took it in to the store, told the manager exactly what happened, and she offered to replace it, if I bought an extended 1 year warranty (the warranty was $9.95). No brainer for me, and I got a brand new saw.

BTW, the saw was bought on sale for $99 (as compared to Dewalt's $500 unit).

Again, I don't make 100 cuts a day, but it's accurate, reliable, and works for me.

I can replace it a couple of times before getting to Dewalt's cost.

Admittedly, I'd love to have one of theirs, I just can't justify the cost.

thought this was interesting DELIVERING A ‘GREEN’ PROMISE
Typically, when you think of eco-conscious plastic providers, your immediate thoughts may turn to those green terms, specifically recycling. But plastic providers are looking at more options these days, and that includes shipping origins and practices.
To significantly reduce fuel emissions, Jerry White, national sales manager of Kommerling USA, suggests buying from North America. A large ocean-crossing vessel is used to transport the plastic, but not only does this vessel have a vast area to cover, it also consumes one gallon of fuel per 10 feet. For a 7,195-mile trip, that is 3,798,960 gallons of fuel is consumed.
However, trucking in North America provides a more eco-conscious option.
“You look at trucking, which is far less expensive with less consumption and leaves less of a carbon foot print than anything else you can buy, anywhere else in the world,” explains White. “You can trade freely in the North American continent. It takes less time. You can transport by rail or by truck, and those are fairly efficient and less expensive.”
As stated in Alcan Composites’ Care & Conserve sustainability program, plastic providers can reduce shipping inefficiencies and scrap, which begins when raw materials are purchased, and then converted into boards, panels or sheets. The average width of the long-haul shipping trucks is 98", and that only is large enough for two 36" skids. Consequently, this leaves 16" of unused space, resulting in increased shipping cost and a 16 percent loss of capacity and fuel waste.
But, if your project can be designed to fit on a 32" skid, three skids now can fit across that same 98" truck width, instead of two. By simply making a sizing alteration, you can reduce your carbon footprint

They have it listed on their web site here:

http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00921335000P?keyword=21335

for $208.99 @ an $11.00 savings. On page 8 of their Craftsman Club flyer it is listed as $169.99. This is what I paid for mine when it was on sale 2 years ago. I might add, it has done a good job for me as I move it around to my various shop tools.

Hey guys,
I read on this site alot about wanting corian for a fair price. I sell corian to alot of guys on this site already. They seem to be pleased with the price and material I send them. I just want to put it out there for the guys I don't help yet and the new guys . I have 1/4" and 1/2" in stock right now. I only have 5x7 or smaller sizes in white right now but I have any size you need in bone, bisque or natural pearl.

I feel my prices are fair compared to others.

I sell on ebay but my prices on there are more because of ebay fees. If you want corian email direct instead of ebay because I can give you alot better of a deal.
My email address is lmbkb@comcast.net. Please put need corian in subject so I don't overlook the email.

I just thought I would post a deal I just fell into. A guy posted an ad on Craigs list to sell some lumber, Maple, Oak, Cherry, Walnut, Ash, Butternut and Aspen. Some rough cut some planed. Said he had 3000+ board feet and wanted $850. So I called him and made arrangements to buy it. My sons got a couple of trucks and a big trailer and drove up to get the lumber. When they got there the guy let them in the building. It was the wood shop of an old school that the guy bought and my son said there’s easily 6000 board feet and they will have to make at least 2 trips. Now I need to find a place to put all this wood. Anyone got a 2 car garage I can borrow?

My sons took 1 tandem axle trailer and 2 pickup trucks up last week and filled them up and brought some of the wood home. They are going back this week with 3 tandem axle trailers and 4 pickups and more help and are hoping they can get the rest of the wood in one last trip. The first trip surprised them. They estimate 8000 to 10000 board feet total. One room had 5 piles of boards stacked 5 feet high 5 feet wide and 8 feet long plus boards standing up against all the walls. They said the other room has just as much wood in it. I’m buying an 8X16 enclosed trailer to store some of it in over the winter. My one son is parking his truck outside for the winter and piling some of the wood in the garage. The other son is filling one of his storage sheds with wood. I can’t wait to see all this wood when they get it back here.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to build a simple shelter to protect the wood, something like an overgrown bus stop? Or just a couple of big tarps?
Or even the shelters that lumber companies build to keep their wood supply out of the weather?

The weather forecast was for a big, windy storm when my sons and I were remodelling the older boys house. We had the bare walls up and the trusses and all of it was exposed. I bought two of the largest plastic tarps that Lowe's carried and it was enough to protect the 2nd floor and roof trusses. The house is 36x28.

It might be cheaper but I'm getting a good buy on the trailer and when I'm done with it I can resell it or keep it if I want. Besides, at this time it would be inconvenient to put up a building or shelter.

I will be selling some. Both my sons will be usng some also. When they went up today they were suppose to pick up the enclosed trailer and when they got there the guy had already sold it so now I'm looking for a trailer. Good news is after they loaded 3 large trailers and 4 pickup trucks they found more wood in the basement and will need to make another trip with at least 2 more trailers. Of course now without that enclosed trailer we are looking for more storage.

they were about the same price, seems like $8- $10. they are a lot beefier than the 3m ones, but that could swing both ways. the more beef there is, it should last longer but wont let you get into nooks and crannies. double edged sword i would think. my local home depot doesnt have them, just lowes that i have seen.

I would advise against a HF lathe. You can't get the speed low enough, many have nonstandard spindle/taper sizes and they are prone to vibration issues.

Ike have you or anyone else bought a lathe from HF? I am looking at the 98676-1VGA 1HP 14X43 cast iron lathe. Any info would be helpful. Would a local HF store carry one? Thanks Roy

No I don't have a lathe, I did a little research and for the most part the lathe got great reviews. One of the biggest issue was the vibration like Pomelle said, but others suggested to anchor it to the floor.

This isn't the same lathe, but here is the link for the review,

http://lumberjocks.com/reviews/901

I am not sure what you want your lathe for? But sounds like it might be a descent lathe? I would do some more research like the Craftsman and Jet, Delta etc. Today machinery is mostly made in Taiwan or China this includes Jet and Delta.

Like I said I don't own a lathe and don't know the in and outs of the different brands. Maybe other members know more, but from what I have read I would buy the lathe you are interested in.

The best thing to do is read up on the tool you want and take the reviews with a grain of salt. You will have reviews from buyers who either never learn how to use the machine and to them the product sucks! Then there are reviews of those who really know and give a good review may it be good or bad.

I owned a 4896 Shopbot and never used it and sold it. It requires assembly and I didn't get the time to assemble it or learn how to use it. So I sold it it, now I can say it sucks you need to assemble it and it isn't easy to use. But that would not be an accurate review. Now if I used it and it sucked then that would be my opinion.

I bought the Delta 13" finish planer and used it for month and returned it for a refund. I wrote a review and explained why I returned it, for the price at the time $750.00 it was not any better then the 12" contractor planer in performance and reducing snipes. I tried a the Dewalt 13" finish planer and same thing, the Dewalt 13" contractor planer did a better job.

Anyway read between the lines on the reviews, you know what I mean just with CW reviews! One will say it is fantastic and give it 5 stars and tell you it will never give you any problems. Then you have the review that is 1 star and tells you it never works!

We all know it has some problems and we also know it works!

Regularly someone asks how to deal with the fuzzies. This is the best solution I have found. They work fast and do not destroy detail. Easily reach areas that you can't get to with sandpaper.
http://www.woodcraft.com/Product/2021113/25125/Diamond-Tip-Carving-Burr-Set-120-Piece.aspx

Mrs Santa put these in my Christmas stocking this year. They work with my dremel tool. I slow it down to about half speed or so to clean up edges, etc.

This 120 piece set offers 30 profiles in four grits, 150, 240, 400, and 600, so you can progress from rapid cutting to final finishing cuts with the same profile!

Tomorrow i'm going to pick up a small pallet of shorts from my local millwork company. I used to work there so i'm getting a good deal. Let me know if anyone's looking for smaller pieces under 4ft down to 1ft long. There red and white oak mahogany black walnut. etc. I'll have to take a closer look i'm going to go through it first. If i have something i'm willing to part with, a couple bucks plus shipping is all i'll ask depending on what it is and the condition it's in.

MH

edit:: I'm sorry guys with a closer look at what i got i don't think i'm gonna part with much. Most of it is 5/4 with about 20% of the material in brazillian cherry, a lot of white oak, hickory some butternut and poplar. It's all nice stuff. If someone really i mean really needs some for a good cause or gift i'll take a look. I paid $25 for a pallet of the shorts that was stacked solid 16" high.

Again sorry

I have a Ridgid 10" with metal tables, have heard about them releasing one
with 'Granite' tops. Have had no problems with mine, just can't imagine any company
doing a price drop of that much unless they are unloading a problem. Guess the
thing to look at is if they give a full warranty!! With a warranty you at least have
a chance of 'fixing' whatever the problem might be, just might be a time consuming
problem. Like the Carvewright, may be some are lemons, some are cherries, just the
luck of the draw.
I would say go for it if you are in the market for a 10" saw but be prepared for possible
issues, don't expect something perfect out of the box. If you get one with problems,
God Bless, if not , God Bless.
I have many Ridgid tools, all work great and they have backed all of them on the few
warranty issues I have had. I've gotten new batteries for my cordless drills at no charge,
how many companies do that?
Rick H

ps: I love my saw, maybe a Delta Unisaw would be better, but I'm a realist, $600 vs
$1800? Lives up to my needs for what that's worth.

I think the biggest problem is that they didn't sell at the stores. I think the saw is too heavy and too big for the average homeowner to buy. They had to forklift it into my truck and needless to say it was an adventure getting it off and into the workshop and set up. The saw weighs about 475 lbs. and is rock solid. Home depot is geared towards homeowners and I think this is too much of a specialty item. I didn't even know we had them in the store since we didn't have one on display. this tool is too much for the average homeowner who would be better served with a benchtop model or one with a foldable stand with wheels. couldn't pass up the great deal.

Got a tablesaw for my son for XMas - ended up buying him a Ryobi at HD. They had the granite top model there on sale (was still too much out of my budget for a gift), but I did talk to the sales guy about it. He said they didn't sell a lot of them, too expensive, too heavy for their customer base, but he did say that the biggest problem with them was their tendency to chip at the mitre slots - they can't really be fixed once they chip, and your mitre tools, etc. just don't work well any longer.

JDPratt
01-22-2010, 01:32 PM
There has been a considerable amount of discussion about chipping within the miter slots on granite topped saws. If the saw top is cared for in the same manner that one cares for a CI top, there is little chance of them chipping. If chipping does occur, it usually happens during Shipping. I think it is probably not the best saw for a beginning woodworker and the BORG is usually not the place where a person looking for a high end saw goes to first. Not that Rigid, Craftsman, Ryobi or others don't have nice saws, but they are not on the same level nor versatility as higher end Delta, PM, Grizzley or some others. I think they may be trying to capitalize on the success of other high end Granite topped table saws like those offered by Steel City Tools (a little irony). For the price they want, IMHO a person would be better suited to buy a higher end saw with more versality (of course price and space play a large role in this decision).

Got a Ridgid thee problem is not with shipping it is that the slots are so tight that getting the miter into or started it not lined just so will cause a chip mu slots came to small and ridgids answer was they never had that problem but sand them down. I thought they were nuts but it worked used 80 on a thin block until the miter would fit then used fine to clean it up they are great now but a problem that should not be happening. now I have to worry about changing out to different miter but have been told they well replace the top it neede and it has a lifetime warranty

Sears has the 18" Sand-Flee on sale for $629.99 plus free shipping and if you use Bing.com you can save another 20% brings the cost down to $504.00 shipped. Then I used a Sears coupon code and they took off $-45.20 bringing the total down to $458.79. I will have to wait 60 days to receive $130.00 from Microsoft's Bing.com but that's OK. This is the first time I have noticed Bing having the 20% off at Sears and this could change anytime.

Bing.com will work for just about anything that you purchase online but I don't know how long they will be running the promotion.

Here is how I did it.

Go to Bing.com (http://www.bing.com/) and type in Craftsman in the search.
In the Sponsored sites area towards the top of page and look for the Sears link and make sure you see the $ Bing Cash Back icon/text
You have one hour to make the purchase but you can always go back and repeat this sequence. You have to follow the link on Bing's website to qualify. You may want to review the qualification on their site.

This will take you to Sears site. Once at Sears search for Sand-Flee or whatever you are looking for. Add it to your shopping cart and make sure you see the Bing Cash Back under the total then enter Coupon Code SEARS5OFF50.

They didn’t have any in stock but will order them and said they will be in tomorrow. That's a pretty darned good price on the Performax... I paid the same for my used 16/32 a while back and have never regretted it

Woodcraft is running 2 day spring sale, today is the last day..

Some decent deals if you need to restock on finishing supplies or hinges or something..

10% off power tools

15% off finishing supplies and glues

20% off hardware and fasteners

Way to go Ron!! Now if we could just get you to start giving us say..$10 off for a bad QC when buying a new Rock  Imagine how cool it would be if the first page on your website was a giant pyramid of QC's and a tag line of "saving CW users for X years"....LOL

Seriously though, I will be ordering another Rock Chuck soon. Thanks again for getting those bits out to me the other day. They came today, right on time. The carves came out great. Rock chuck with a new RJ carving bit on cherry wood....you can practically throw some finish on it and send it out the door...

Also,
Forgot to mention that my carving bits now come without a flat, exclusively for use with the Rock Chuck system.... You no longer have to worry about where the flat is located because there isnt one!!!

This also improves the balance because that little chunk of carbide is not missing which throws off the balance... They run even smoother :D

Happy Carving!

From what i have read on here, the carvewright needs at least 650 cfm to work correctly. So the 350 may not be enough.

Good Point Mike, I think cfm rating interruption vary between manufacturers. There is some sort of hocus pocus that goes on, similar to hp ratings on various power tools. It may have something to do with the number of inlets of on individual machines. The pdf explaining cfm ratings on the said site will not open. I've emailed Woodworkers Supply, Technical Support to obtain said information. I'll pass along the information when and if they reply.

3M (http://www.ottofrei.com/3M/)

3M Radial Bristle Discs are long lasting and very effective. Stack them on mandrels and use them like natural bristle brushes – except there is no need to add polishing compound. The compound is built in!
Simply stack the individual bristle discs on a pin hole mandrel – use one disc or as many as you can fit – four to six make a good brush –and you are ready to polish. You get a very flexible, long lasting polishing brush that never needs recharging. 3M radial bristle disc brushes are also cool running to help prevent damage by heat build up, and give an easy to control uniform finish.
Try the kit first to see what you like. Brushes can be purchased separately with a minimum order of 12 pieces per color /size. Buy in the master pack of 48 pieces and save 10% and receive a free mandrel.

Yep! That is where I buy mine also.

How many do you normally mount at the same time? I usually use three at a time.
Better prices in bulk if you can afford them.

cnsranch

Three at a time - dremel on its slowest setting.

I bought all grits in the beginning, but the 80 grit are the best all-around.

Harder woods like ash can really eat thru them, but they're worth it. Best thing since a couple of guys invented a new-fangled carving machine.

I think the price has gone up some, but I bought 100 last time, and paid about 73 cents a piece (as I recall). Subscribe to Otto Frei and they have coupons they send you via email each month.
