Hey guys,

I bought the new 1/16" cutting bit a while ago. After receiving it, I have been reluctant to use it......it looks quite fragile and I fear breaking it.

Do any of you have any experience using this bit that you could share?

I am interested to know what materials it has been used with successfully, has anybody tried it with Corian? I don't see an option to select this bit in the software although I am running the most current version (I believe). Do I install it in the machine in place of the 1/16" carving bit?

Anyway, any information would be appreciated.

Here era some possible links I found by typing < "1/16 cutting" > into the "Search" option (include the Quotes in the search and it will work).

It's my understanding not to go more than 1/2" and maybe set your path let's say 1/4" per time around on the cut path you should be okay, remember that it is for fine cuts,Capt.Barry

Also I believe it to be a "Cutting Bit" not a Carving Bit. For very fine cur out areas.

The max. cut depth on the 1/16" cutting bit is just a shade over 1/4". Do not take 1/4" depth in one pass. I would guess max depth per pass would be about 1/32" to 1/16".

I have used the 1/16" bit quite a lot. I use it to take full depth cuts all the time. It works great!

On my test, the designer will abort at any thickness measurement, using the 1/16" cutting bit, over ".258" for a "Cut-out".
