Two questions. My depth can be set at 0.800.
1; Does the machine slow down to carve at deeper depths?
2: Can you use any type of hard or soft wood in the machine?

all types of wood will work , No speed stays the same but set at .8 is deep ,most standard lumber used is only .75 , Max carve is 1 ' or .100
Don't try to carve lower than your lumber is thick.

...UNLESS you are doing an intentional pierced carving!
