What AskBud did in another thread was to make sure that his centerline text carved deeper than the depth of the carve region. So, if your text normally carves, say, .15" into the board, and your CR is , say, .10" deep, the resunting text is carved .05 deep into the wood.
That's ok, but what if you want text in a CR that's .25" deep - the bit carves "air", it never get to the board.
Centerline is designed to carve from the top-most surface of the board, period. The only way to get the effect attached is to fool the machine in one way or another - and Jeff's right, if you're fooling the machine, you're taking a chance, be it low or high risk.
