Example:
If I attached a dimension from the side of a rectangle to the end of a virtual board, say 1 inch. But, my actual board is 8 inches longer. Will the side of the rectangle be 1 inch or 5 inches from the end of the board when carved?

if you center you pattern on you board it should be 5"

Depends if you are putting a board that is 7" longer than you designed in designer or if it's the actual size of what's in designer.

If you put an actual board in the CW that is 7" longer than the virtual board in designer and center the project on the board while telling it NOT to stay under the rollers, it will be 4.5" from the edge.
