A fellow Marine came to me with 4 very nice lithopanes that they wanted to present to some guys departing the squadron. I decided to make a custom frame from Poplar and add some text. I love the results, especially with the dark red stain. I finished it off by inseting the squadron coin in the lower half of the frame. I didnt want to go with the traditional square frame, and opted for the decorative bottom. I used a few coats of laquer for the finish. The frame is held together using pocket screws all around. I made 4 of these over the period of 2 days.

They were presented to the departing Marines earlier in the day. Later that night i was greeted by a couple of 12 packs that mysteriously found thier way to my front door.
