Any Signs!

How do you do it!

I'm assisting a customer that I sold a unit to (I work at Sears) and I'm trying to give him as much info as possible.

Is the programing already in the Software? If So where is it (Icon or drop menu) and how is it altered. The more info I can get for him the better!

Thanks Much in Advance

Tonya,

The software is manipulated in pretty standard format with multiple methods of making selections. I'm inserting a link that contains several good Tips & Tricks PDF documents that you can get a good overview of how things work.

Tonya -

Also, have the new proud owner get on the Forum asap, and read, read, read.

If you don't see to it that he/she is educated, you'll be blamed for everything they don't get right.

Finally, look here:

Tonya,

I have to commend you for making the effort to help out the new carver! You do not see that very often any more.

Like others have already stated, have them sign up for the forum, down load all of the tips and tricks from the main CW site and take the time to read as much as possible.

Great customer support at work!!

awesome, I'm passing this on to him so I'm sure you'll see him posting on this thread or making his own shortly.

Please keep the information coming! I also would like to know as much as possible about this machine since I do deal with it on a daily basis

OH! Another thing, what does the icon look like that activates the text feature?

OH! Another thing, what does the icon look like that activates the text feature?

It is the big "T" in the top tool bar and also under the "tools" menu tab...

Thank you so much, the Text was what I was actually trying to get the info on, I worded it badly. Since he's most likely going to be looking at this thread, could someone run it down step by step on how to place text onto the project designer.

After you select the font icon and move the mouse pointer over the board and click on the area you want the text to be placed.

It will then open up the text pop up window. from there you can select the text font you want to use (the fonts are what ever fonts you have installed on your computer, they are not part of the CW/CC software).

You can then set the spacing, bold, italic etc..

If you do not have the "centerline" software all you will be able to do is the "raster" text style

The help function with in the software does show this as well.

Awesome! This person needs a promotion to store manager so they can pass on to others the need to take the helm and help the customers. I've seen it more than once, customer helping customer, and the sales person just nodding there head.

Another suggestion if you are truly interested in learning about the CW, go here

http://www.carvewright.com/cms/downloads

Download the software and play with it. You will also find manuals, etc. Mike already pointed to the Tips & Tricks above.

If this is a valid request for Sign info, I have pictures of signs I have made on my website.

you guys have me laughing right now, I'm a rare breed I suppose...I'm very customer oriented. We're still having some problems with his program, that text symbol (bigT") isn't showing up on his program and I don't know how to find it. But I have to say to the person who linked to the program THANK YOU SO MUCH...as soon as I get home I'm gonna download it and start learning it. I think that it's the customer's fault that now I want one of the machines for myself LOL. Doing all this research for him is really got me going on it.

If anyone knows which toolbar the Text Tool is in, please let me know ASAP, the customer is on his way right now so I can go through the program with him.

You can access the Text tool by clicking on the "Drawing" drop-down menu (at the top of the window next to Edit) and the 'bigT" for the text tool should be at the bottom of the drop-down list.

If you right click in the toolbar area you can select the 'Customization' menu. This lets you add/remove button to any tool bar, in any order you wish. Your customer may have accidentally removed the text tool from its toolbar. I 'think' it is in the 'Tools' toolbar by default.

If he's not seeing the "Big T" icon he is probably not seeing the square/circle/etc drawing tools either.

At the top of the screen go to View> Toolbars and click in each box to show all the toolbars available. Later you can do as Jeff said and add even more options by using customization.

I downloaded the trial software...I think I'm deffinately going to get one of these machines in the next year...the possibilities of the things you can do with it are absolutely endless!!!

I've figured everything out for him, once he calls I can walk him through it and get him going on doing text.

thank you all so much for helping me out so that I can help him!!! I'm sure you'll be seeing me around a lot!

Since we've talked you into a machine, can we get your employee discount, too?

:-D:-D

LMAO!

it's not really worth it, I only get 10% off

I was wondering though, how do I make a design completely raised and have the machine get rid of all the wood around the design...can't find where it tells me how

I'm actually making some headway with learning this program! Having AutoCAD training behind me is also quite beneficial. Every day I'm learning more and more about it and the tricks of making things look great. I've even got my customer up and running!!! He's making things left and right!

I wouldn't have been able to do any of that without the insightful help of those who responded to me. Thanks so much!!! You guys are extremely helpful and I look forward to picking your brains in the (near) future!!

Thanks again!!!
